Bamboo forest
Bamboo forest in Kamakura, Japan.

This is a bamboo forest in Kamakura, Japan. Kamakura, located about an hour from Tokyo, is famous for old temples and shrines. In Japan, bamboo forests can sometimes be found around temples, shrines, or Japanese traditional gardens. There is a sidewalk inside the forest which allows us to walk through it. Walking through a bamboo forest, we can feel calmed by the cool and comfortable wind, the sounds of bamboos, and the dim lights with sunshine filtering through bamboo leaves.

Kamakura is a memorable place for me. My grandmother, who loved me a lot, used to live near Kamakura. We sometimes went out together like a date, and Kamakura was one of her favorite places. Although I hardly remember what we were talking about when we went out together, I know she loved being with me and talking with me. I have a lot of memories from Kamakura, but it will always remind me of my grandmother first and foremost.
