If you happened to wander through the commons area of the Anderson-Clarke Center this past Wednesday, you will certainly have noticed a few spooky delights! Our intensive English students came dressed to impress for our Halloween party, resulting in a host of characters from aliens to witches and wizards.

The students enjoyed kicking things off with some cheerful conversation and a delicious taco lunch from Tacos A-Go-Go. Also on the menu were sides of chips and salsa, black and refried beans, and rice. Oh, and lots and lots of candy and sweet treats, of course!

After lunch, a few students started up a few rounds of cornhole, while others went over to the photo spot for pictures with friends. The main event of the afternoon, though, was the costume contest.

As for their prizes, each student received a Rice University mug, perfect for their favorite warm drinks. In the end, though, everyone was a winner at the Halloween party. It was certainly a spookily good time; there were no tricks in sight, no ghouls or ghosts on the prowl, and most importantly, there were new memories to cherish and friendships to be forged.
