As our second summer session of Intensive English is well underway, students took a little time after class this past Friday to come together for another meet and greet event. This time, the theme was international snacks!

First up was lunch - students had some delicious pizza and got to try pineapple, mandarin, and lime flavored sodas from Mexico! Right afterwards, students got to enter once into our raffle to win some amazing prizes!

As students finished eating, they could each take a stamp card. On each card, there was room for four stamps, which students could collect by participating in each activity around the lounge: games, a sweets taste test, and a snack guessing game. The fourth stamp - the welcome stamp - was a free stamp which students got just for coming to the meet and greet.

At the tables in the lounge, a few different games were set up for students to play. Connect 4 was a big hit, with students competing against each other to see who could get four in a row first! We also had Jenga, Operation, and dominoes, which the students got to enjoy as well. Once they had each played a game, students got to take a stamp for their passport card!

At the sweets tasting table, students needed to try several sweet snacks from around the world and determine which one was their favorite. Among the options were a cream-filled soft cake, some cookies topped with fruit jam, and some speculoos cookies. After placing a flag to rank their favorite sweet, students got to claim another stamp!

Over at the snack guessing game, students first had to spin the wheel to see where it would land. If it landed on a number, students had to find the matching snack and try to guess where in the world it was from. If the wheel landed on a question mark, students had to answer a trivia question about the snacks at the event. By guessing the snack or answering the question, students got to take the final stamp to complete their stamp card.

With a complete stamp card, students got another chance to win one of two prizes at the end of the event in our raffle! Both prizes had several of the snacks from the event as well as some Rice-themed goodies. Congratulations to our lucky winners!

As the meet and greet wrapped up, all the students were happy and left knowing a little bit more about each other and the world of tasty snacks. Stay tuned to our social media channels for more social activities coming later in the summer!
